The 6th of January in Spain is as important as Christmas day in the UK, as the vast majority of shops and businesses throughout Spain will close for the day.

This is to do with the three wise men (or kings) bringing presents much like Santa Claus. The day before (the 5th), the three kings will be seen throughout the Spanish towns and Cities arriving in all types of transport, and their presence will be accompanied with music, dancing and floats.

As a tradition families will have a Roscón de Reyes, a sweet cake in the shape of a ring and decorated in a vast number of different ways. The night of the 5th January is considered one of the best nights of the year with a very lively atmosphere and sweets and presents everywhere.

On the 6th January there is yet another event called the Auto de los Reyes Magos which is a nativity play in the street, along with this there will be music groups playing adding to the festive atmosphere and sense of Spanish Occasion.

Come and get your Spanish Property in 2016 in time to see this in 2017.
